“A Local Church with a World Wide Vision”
The Potter’s House of Stockton is a Bible based, Spirit filled, and non-denominational church with a passion to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Worship services are contemporary in a casual environment where you’ll hear relevant messages that you can apply to everyday life.
Our warm, friendly congregation has been serving Stockton, California and the Central Valley since 2002.
We are a church of ordinary and common people on a journey together to better understand, follow, and relate to an extraordinary God. Whether you have yet to attend a church or you have “tried” many, be assured that we would be happy to have you join us for our Sunday Services (11:00am or 6:30pm) or Wednesday Service (7:00pm). We believe God calls us to grow in our faith; that we each play a role in the strengthening and encouraging of others.
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. NKJV
Who We Are
The Potter’s House Christian Fellowship is affiliated with Christian Fellowship Ministries founded by Wayman Mitchell, Senior Pastor of The Potter’s House Church of Prescott, Arizona. Beginning in 1973, this body has mothered an entire fellowship of churches which go by various names. These include The Door, The Potter’s House, Victory Chapel, The Lighthouse, and Living Waters.
Our fellowship now includes more than 2,400 congregations worldwide touching lives with THE ETERNAL MESSAGE of JESUS CHRIST
Each service begins with contemporary worship songs to encourage and edify you. We then pray for needs that people have placed on a list located at the back of church. We take an offering in order to honor the Lord with our giving, as He has so generously given to us. Announcements are briefly made, followed by the preaching of the Word of God. We then make an invitation to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
After the service we hope you will take a few moments to visit with us, as we would love to get to know you better and answer any questions you may have.
The Potter’s House of Stockton exists as a local congregation to witness to the world of God’s love as revealed in His Son, Jesus Christ, our crucified, risen, exalted, and soon-returning King. We desire to teach the Word of God and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. Our goal is the shaping and equipping of the saints so that disciples will be nourished and empowered to fulfill their God-ordained purpose and ministry. As members of the church, our desire is to bring glory to God through our public and private lives. We do this by:
Rejoicing in Christ Jesus;
Increasing in the knowledge of God through the study and application of the scriptures;
Growing in Godly character;
Practicing Biblical fellowship;
Serving one another with our spiritual gifts, time, and money; and
Proclaiming the Gospel in Stockton and to the ends of the earth.
The Mission of Our Fellowship Our mission is accomplished by keeping focused on five core values
Man’s chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. Psalm 29:2 says, “Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Central to the life of the congregation is the vibrant, heartfelt, and exuberant worship of Jesus Christ as Lord.
Acts 2:42 says, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship.” The life of the early church revolved around the faithful ministry of teaching and preaching God’s Word and the bond of committed relationships that believers has with one another. Galatians 6:10 reiterates, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” In order for worship to complete us, the church must be a fellowship of believers.
Mark 16:15 says, “And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature…'” The great commission has never been rescinded. Keeping the Gospel “outside the four walls” is one of the defining ethics and emphasis of our ministry.
Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you…” Discipleship is a responsibility we take seriously. It is also a process where we challenge believers to mature and grow as followers of Christ seeking to do His will.
Devotion refers to our commitment to God’s will, God’s ways, and God’s Word. We believe in a serious-minded approach to communion with God. Finding the balance between legalism and license is the fruit of an intimate relationship with God.
Statement of Faith
That Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God and the only Savior from sin.
That Jesus Christ is the Great Physician and the Healer of the body and soul through the blood atonement.
That Jesus Christ is the baptizer with the Holy Ghost today, just as He was on the Day of Pentecost.
That Jesus Christ is the soon-coming King, coming back to the earth again as the only hope for our dying world.
That Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
